Cleaner, safer water for homes, businesses and sites.

Bluescape designs and installs practical water treatment solutions including filtration, purification, reverse osmosis, desalination, UV sterilisation, pH correction and media-based treatment systems.

Water treatment system installation background
What Bluescape does

Water treatment designed around your source, usage and site conditions.

Bluescape focuses on different types of water treatment, namely filtration, purification, reverse osmosis and desalination. The correct system depends on the quality of the incoming water, what the water will be used for and the level of treatment required.

Filtration

Removing suspended particles and improving water quality.

Water filtration is a process of removing or reducing mass suspended particles, undesirable chemicals, bacteria and fungi. Bluescape uses staged filtration systems, including sediment filtration, carbon media, Siliphos, UV light and bacteria filtration where required.

  • 5 micron sediment filter for major sediment and solids.
  • 1 micron carbon block to polish water and reduce taste issues.
  • Siliphos media to help with scale, corrosion and hardness concerns.
  • 55W UV light to support bacterial treatment.
  • 0.2 micron bacteria filtration where required.

Process

How the correct treatment solution is chosen.

1Identify the source

Municipal, borehole, wellpoint, rainwater, brackish or other water sources require different treatment planning.

2Test the water

Water testing helps identify contaminants, hardness, pH, bacteria risk and treatment requirements.

3Design the system

Flow rate, availability, usage and site requirements guide the final system layout and equipment choice.

4Install and maintain

Bluescape installs the system and can advise on media replacement and future maintenance.

Purification

Purification is a group of processes used in cleaning water for your needs. Bluescape uses different media and chemicals with a personalised design process to remove or reduce contaminants in the water for your use.

How to start this process: first identify the source of water, complete water testing and then determine flow requirements, usage, water availability and electricity supply.

Reverse Osmosis

Reverse osmosis is used to remove a large majority of contaminants by pushing water under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane. Bluescape can customise RO systems depending on client needs.

RO membranes can remove 99% of solids and contaminants, although pre-treatment is normally advised to protect the membranes from substances that cannot be removed during RO, such as chlorine.

  1. Remineralise RO water with mineral drops.
  2. Add minerals naturally by using salt.
  3. Install a remineralising water filter.
  4. Restore minerals by using an alkaline pitcher.

Desalination

Desalination removes salts and minerals from sea water, brackish water and waste water. It works similarly to reverse osmosis, but requires higher pressure and a different membrane type.

Desalination can require pressure from around 40 Bar up to 60 Bar depending on the application.

Siliphos

Scale and corrosion support for potable and industrial water.

SILIPHOS is an economic and reliable water treatment system for potable and industrial water. It consists of glass-like polyphosphate silicate spheres and dispensers of variable size.

SILIPHOS prevents scale and helps stop corrosion by inhibiting the deposition of scale on metallic surfaces.

Iron Removal

Katalox filter media can be used for residential, commercial, industrial and municipal applications for high-level filtration, colour and odour removal, iron, manganese and hydrogen sulphide removal.

  • Suspended solids and sediment filtration.
  • Turbidity, organics, colour and odour improvement.
  • Iron, manganese and hydrogen sulphide removal.
  • High filtration rates and media replacement every 3–4 years.

Glass / AFM Filter Media

Glass/AFM filter media treatment removes fine particles and sediments from incoming water sources. The media uses different grades depending on the filter vessel and required result.

UV Light

UV sterilisers target and stabilise biological impurities found in water without adding additional chemicals.

pH Correction

Calcite media is used to neutralise acidic or low pH water to a less corrosive level in residential and commercial treatment applications.
